Epson 3880 Printer

For the last three weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of setting up my new Epson 3880 printer. This means I can print up to 17×22″ prints and the quality equals or surpasses my local pro lab. Just amazing. With two young children, the ferrying of prints 25 miles back and forth is time I just don’t have these days so I’ve been patiently waiting for the right printer to come along at the right price. I will continue to utilize Pictage for client orders but all my personal and portfolio work will go through the 3880.  I purchased mine from B&H and they still have a rebate offer on up to the end of June.

The black and whites coming out of this things are just simply stunning. I just received some fine art velvet paper so I cannot wait to try this out. It’s also altered my flow of presenting my work to client consultations. Apart form my albums, I now can feel very proud of my in house prints on 13×19 presentation paper.

It’s the summer, so shoots are slowing down and it’s great to take a bit of a breather and focus on just shooting the kids most days.

I’m really looking forward to going back to the UK next month, chilling out in a pub somewhere and seeing mom and dad again. It’ll be the first time mom and dad have seem Emma, our seven month old so it should be a blast.

Lily + Her Sunflower

Well, our back yard sunflowers (my favorite flowers) finally bloomed this week. Here’s our Lily next to her creations. My wife, Marcie took the last pic after dusk last night. The first pic shows Lily planting the seeds back in March. Beautiful!

WEDDING: CAT + JOSH

This lovely young couple have a lovely story and have known each other for many years. Cat and Josh married at San Fernando Cathedral last Saturday and their reception following just across the square at Main Street Ballroom. I love that second shot. It shows Cat’s mom Laurie fighting over a certain alcoholic beverage.

The night was a wild and fun party that went on into the early morning hours. Both of then are enjoying their honeymoon in the Riviera Maya right now.

For photographers and anyone interested, camera used were a Nikon D3 and D700. Lenses were mostly a 35mm f2, a 85mm f1.4 and a 14-24 f2.8.

Laurrie - Philip!
Thanks for posting these! So exciting. And I just want to make it very clear that I was trying to take that flask away from Catherine so that she couldn’t drink, NOT so that I could. LOL. Can’t wait to see more…

RENEWAL OF VOWS: AMANCIO + LORETO

This wedding was very special and was captured a couple of weeks ago on Saturday, June 10.  Visiting from the Philippines, Amancio and Loreto celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows. Their ceremony took place at St.Joseph’s church downtown followed by a lively reception with friends and family at Hotel Contessa.

Below are a few of my favorite images.
