Wishing everyone, family, friends and clients a very happy and prosperous New Year.
Despite talk of the credit crunch and economic hard times, we’re extremely busy and booked up for most of 2009.
This post is dedicated to my dear Gran who passed away a couple of weeks ago. We’ll all miss you and your humor!
Best wishes for 2009!

CONGRATULATIONS TO LAUREN AND JIM who tied the knot last Saturday at Cos House opposite La Villita Church.
A fantastic wedding, again with many children. I love the challenges of capturing them just being themselves. This is the most difficult in what we photojournalists do, capturing real true moments, not posed. With adults, you can tell them ahead of time to just be themselves (easier said then done). With children, you have to capture them just before they become camera aware as many have been ‘trained’ to say ‘cheese’ and pull these awkward smiles.
Lauren and Jim make a great couple and have a wonderful and touching story to tell.
A few of my favorite shots are below, one in particular of Sarah (7th shot down), Lauren’s sister captured just after she tied the knot showing great happiness and emotion. The first one is also quite funny, just interesting framing and body shapes as the girls put makeup on. I also love the 5th photo down as the father of the bride waits to take her down the aisle.
All photos taken on a Nikon D3 or D700 with 50mm f1.4, 18mm f3.5, 70-210 f2.8 and a 24-70 f2.8 lenses.

Alyssa and Chad tied the knot last Saturday December 6 at Kali-Kate, just south of Austin.
What an amazing place it is and the light was just magnificent in the evening, very different from the hot summers we have.
All images except the last two were shot with available light only using the Nikon D3 and D700, Nikon 24-70 f2.8, 50mm f1.4, 18mm f3.5, 70-210 f2.8 lenses.
See below some of my favorite photos.

Martin and Maribeth tied the knot officially on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Alamo Heights Baptist Church here in San Antonio. The reception was at the elegant and beautiful Lodge Hill Restaurant.
Martin and Maribeth headed to Singapore on Sunday to have a ceremony there with his family.
The light was really fantastic and it’s always fun to shoot at a totally new location. See below a few of my favorites.

We just finished putting up the lights on our back yard arbor, so here’s a few shots of Lily using available light with the Nikon D3 last night.
This is one of the many reasons why I love my Nikon D3 and D700. Both do an exceptional job of capturing in low light and use a full frame sensor, Nikon call it FX format, but all it really is is a bigger sensor and the same size as a 35mm frame so there is no crop factor of 1.5x.
Shot with a 50mm and at f1.4 lens and 4000 ISO, they’re pin sharp. I use this lens to shoot my weddings along with my 24-70 f2.8 and 18mm.
Of course, she’s our daughter so we think she’s gorgeous!
