I’m looking forward to getting the new Nikon f1.4G AF-S lens later this week from B&H in New York. There’s supposedly an improvement in sharpness, particular at the wide open apertures where I shoot most of my work compared to the older and beautiful ’50mm f1.4 D’ lens. Stephen Bunn - I would hold on to it a little longer if i were you… I was extremely disappointed with the 50g lens compared to my old 50mm 1.8d, yeah its sharp but that SWM in the lens is so slow, I have missed some great moments because that lens hunts around too much in low light. I use manual focus a lot with that lens. I also use the 35f2 the most as its focus is driven by the camera which is a little louder but much faster.
