WEDDING: CAT + JOSH

This lovely young couple have a lovely story and have known each other for many years. Cat and Josh married at San Fernando Cathedral last Saturday and their reception following just across the square at Main Street Ballroom. I love that second shot. It shows Cat’s mom Laurie fighting over a certain alcoholic beverage.

The night was a wild and fun party that went on into the early morning hours. Both of then are enjoying their honeymoon in the Riviera Maya right now.

For photographers and anyone interested, camera used were a Nikon D3 and D700. Lenses were mostly a 35mm f2, a 85mm f1.4 and a 14-24 f2.8.

RENEWAL OF VOWS: AMANCIO + LORETO

This wedding was very special and was captured a couple of weeks ago on Saturday, June 10. Visiting from the Philippines, Amancio and Loreto celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows. Their ceremony took place at St.Joseph’s church downtown followed by a lively reception with friends and family at Hotel Contessa.

WEDDING: CARRIE + JOSH

Loved, loved, loved working with Carrie, Josh, Carrie’s mom Debbie and all their family and friends. I didn’t get to meet them both until the day of the wedding but I left at the end feeling part of the extended Corbitt family.

This was a real scorcher of a day, almost too hot for a white Englishman who’s used to lots of rain or drizzle:-)

The wedding ceremony took place at one of my favorite hotels downtown Hotel Valencia and the reception was at the Hyatt’s Lone Star Palace. Help on Saturday was from an excellent assistant I’m fortunate to work with, news photojournalist and multi-media producer, Julia Robinson.

Below are a few of my favorites from their day. For any photographers who would like to know-shot with Nikon’s D3 + D700. A 35mm f2, 17-24 f2.8 and 50mm f1.4

WEDDING: LINDSAY + TRAVIS

I love shooting back yard weddings. This was, well, a huge back yard overlooking Medina Lake shot last Saturday. The light was just perfect and the people ever so friendly- Texas style. Below are a few of my personal favorites from their day. It was lovely to see some familiar faces there as well: Katie, Josh and their beautiful daughter- I photographed their wedding a few years ago and Lindsay, the bride was a bridesmaids at their wedding. The party went into the night-I’m sure there are a still a few hangovers left over. Great fun.

For photographers or anyone interested, I shot with a Nikon D3 and a Nikon D700. Lenses used were a 14-24mm f2.8, a 35mm f2, and a 50mm f1.4

A FAVORITE SEQUENCE ~ Sarah Williams Gibson

Shot these back in February at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Houston. This bride, Sarah Williams-Gibson was gracious to let me shoot her outside the restrooms down beneath the museum. It’s a really interesting sequence of images and I thought I would share.

For photographers, the only light used was the recess lighting in the ceiling and shot with a 35mm f2 Nikon lens.
